Ayurvedic Rasayanas: Almonds & Honey

Honey & Almonds | Ayurveda Parkschlösschen Health Blog

Ayurveda recognises many rejuvenating remedies, so-called Rasayanas, which are intended to slow down the ageing process and can have a tissue-rejuvenating effect on the body. These include natural foods that can be consumed daily and which Ayurveda attributes a vitalising effect to. In addition to milk, honey and Ghee, there is a simple recipe that can be incorporated into the daily diet.

Sweet almonds in honey
Almonds strengthen the brain while honey nourishes and cleanses the tissues. To prepare them, soak almonds in honey for at least 1 week and place the jar in the sun during this time if possible.

Consume up to 5 almonds twice a day.

“The rejuvenating measures of Ayurveda act like the nectar of immortality and help even the gods.”

Caraka Samhita
