Digital Detox & Forest Bathing

Digital detox and forest bathing are two new trends that have now also reached Germany and can be seen as a reaction to the fast-paced lifestyle of our times.

Many people think they always have to be available and are afraid of missing out on something if they are not online. They lose sight of the important things in life, become unfocussed, stressed and in some cases even depressed.

Forest bathing, a translation from the Japanese “shinrin-yoku”, means “immersing yourself in nature” and is nothing more than a quiet walk through the forest. It is about taking in all the sounds, smells, colours and atmosphere of the forest in all its biodiversity. Digital Detox also promotes this mindfulness, as you are not distracted and are fully immersed in your surroundings.

Decades of studies show that forest bathing can help to reduce stress, promote focus, strengthen the immune system and improve mood.

The Ayurveda Parkschlösschen has also focussed on these two “therapeutic aspects” from the very beginning. The pillars of healing at the Parkschlösschen Ayurveda are tranquillity and retreat. Special care has been taken to protect guests from uneccesary external stressors; in line with this philosophy, there is an intentional Digital Detox culture, and therefore no Wifi throughout the house. The almost 5-hectare park with its trees, surrounded by vineyards and a rushing stream, invites you to take a mindful stroll, and ensures relaxation and tranquillity.

Try to switch off from the digital world more often, set yourself clear boundaries and recharge your batteries with a mindful walk through the forest.
