Ayurvedic Self-Massage to Reduce Stress | Ayurveda Parkschlösschen Health Blog

Relaxing foot massage in the evening

Start with a warm foot bath. Stay present in the here and now, and do not allow yourself to be distracted, e.g. by reading or talking on the phone. Relax all your senses. Then rub the soles of your feet with Ghee, breathe in the aromas of lavender or sandalwood and enjoy the peace and quiet. This ritual is not time-consuming, is suitable for everyone, can be performed daily and has a relaxing effect on the mind and the entire body.

Extra tip: Drink a glass of warm almond milk with a little cardamom and honey about an hour before going to bed. This ensures a good night’s sleep, which is proven to reduce stress.

Calming temple massage

Use your middle finger to circle your temple clockwise 10 times (medium pressure) two finger widths from your eyes. You can also treat the point between your eyebrows in the same way. This massage has a relaxing effect and can be used anywhere.
