Ayurveda Detox Tea in Spring

Spring Detox Tea | Ayurveda Parkschlösschen Health Blog

For strengthening and cleansing the immune system

In Ayurveda, spring overlaps with the Kapha season, which causes heaviness and sluggishness in the body. To stay fit and energised and to start the summer with ease, Ayurveda recommends taking measures to eliminate excess Kapha, mucus and Ama (metabolic residues) that have accumulated over the winter.

We have put together a special detox tea recipe for you:

  • 500 ml water
  • 3-5 cm fresh ginger root, crushed
  • 3-5 cm fresh turmeric root, crushed
  • 1 pinch of black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. honey, to taste

Boil the ginger, turmeric and pepper in 500 ml water for 3 to 5 minutes. When the tea has cooled to 40 degrees, optionally stir in ½ tsp. honey and enjoy.

A Panchakarma programme can also provide a holistic “spring cleanse” for mind, body and soul. At the Ayurveda Parkschlösschen, we offer Panchakarma programmes of varying duration and depth, which are specially tailored to the individual needs of our guests.
