Lassi for the summer | Ayurvedic recipe | Ayurveda Parkschlösschen Health Blog

Lassi is an absolute favourite drink not only in summer and a great alternative to smoothies and lemonade. In Ayurveda, beverages consisting of yoghurt and water are called lassi. It is drunk at the end of a meal or as a welcome refreshment between meals.

Ingredients
200 g natural yoghurt 3.5
1 l lukewarm water
a pinch of freshly ground green cardamom
1 pinch of ground vanilla
1-2 tbsp agave syrup
1 pinch of rose water, to taste

Preparation
Put all the ingredients together in a container and whisk with a food processor for 20 seconds – done.
Lassi should not be served too cold. It is best served at room temperature or slightly warmer.

ATTENTION: If you like to mix your lassi with mango or other fruit, make sure to use plant-based yoghurt alternatives. The combination of dairy products and raw fruit can cause strong fermentation and putrefaction processes, which manifest themselves as flatulence and a feeling of fullness.
