Sun Salutation | Yoga | Ayurveda Parkschlösschen Health Blog

The dynamic sequence of the sun salutation in combination with rhythmic breathing is both invigorating and balancing for body and mind. This cycle fits into any daily routine, with just 15 minutes and 2 square metres of space.

Begin by exhaling Namaste while standing and then perform the following asanas:

Preparation: Close your eyes. Let go of your thoughts and immerse yourself completely in the here and now. Inhale and exhale deeply a few times with your eyes closed.

Warm up: If you have enough time, slowly circle your shoulders, head and hands in both directions one after the other while seated. Finally, slowly stretch the tips of your toes away from your body as you exhale and draw them towards your body as you inhale.

Sun salutation: A complete cycle runs through all the postures twice, with the lunge being performed once on the left and once on the right. Practise 3-6 cycles, then be sure to take 1-2 minutes in the Savasana (Corpse pose).

Ayurveda Parkschlösschen Tip:

  • For Vata types: Move slowly and meditatively.
  • For Pitta types: Move dynamically in a relaxed manner.
  • For Kapha types: Move dynamically and swiftly.
