Morning Routine

  • Wake up relaxed and get up just before 6 a.m. (Vata time)
  • Cleanse mouth and eyes with water
  • Gandusha: scrape tongue clean and rinse mouth with oil
  • Brush your teeth
  • Drink 2-3 cups of hot water
  • Bowel movement
  • Drink 1 cup of lukewarm water with ½ lemon and 1 teaspoon of honey
  • Apply oil in nostrils (Nasya) and ears (Karna Purana)
  • Self-massage
  • Practice Yoga Asanas / Exercise
  • Take a shower
  • Pranayama (breathing exercises) and Meditation

Mealtimes

  • Breakfast between 7.00 – 9.00 am (Kapha time)
  • Midday meal (main meal) between 12.00 – 2.00 pm (Pitta time)
  • Grant yourself a 10-15 minute break or a silent walk after the meal
  • Snack (tea break) between 3.00 – 5.00 pm (only for Vata and Pitta)
  • Light supper around 6.00 – 7.00 pm
  • Relaxation time from 8.00 – 10.00 pm

Sleep

  • Before sleep: foot massage (Padabhyanga), Gandharva Veda music or Badam milk (not in cases of increased Kapha)
  • Fall asleep around 10.00 pm (Kapha time)

Ms. Kansal completed her 6-year Ayurveda studies in India in 2006. She then worked as a lecturer and until 2007 worked as an Ayurveda doctor in Indian Ayurveda hospitals. In 2008 she came to Germany and completed her training as a healing practitioner in 2016. Ms. Kansal has been working at the Ayurveda Parkschlösschen since 2012. Her intensive Sanskrit and yoga studies give her a deep Ayurvedic knowledge.
