Morning Routine
- Wake up relaxed and get up just before 6 a.m. (Vata time)
- Cleanse mouth and eyes with water
- Gandusha: scrape tongue clean and rinse mouth with oil
- Brush your teeth
- Drink 2-3 cups of hot water
- Bowel movement
- Drink 1 cup of lukewarm water with ½ lemon and 1 teaspoon of honey
- Apply oil in nostrils (Nasya) and ears (Karna Purana)
- Self-massage
- Practice Yoga Asanas / Exercise
- Take a shower
- Pranayama (breathing exercises) and Meditation
Mealtimes
- Breakfast between 7.00 – 9.00 am (Kapha time)
- Midday meal (main meal) between 12.00 – 2.00 pm (Pitta time)
- Grant yourself a 10-15 minute break or a silent walk after the meal
- Snack (tea break) between 3.00 – 5.00 pm (only for Vata and Pitta)
- Light supper around 6.00 – 7.00 pm
- Relaxation time from 8.00 – 10.00 pm
Sleep
- Before sleep: foot massage (Padabhyanga), Gandharva Veda music or Badam milk (not in cases of increased Kapha)
- Fall asleep around 10.00 pm (Kapha time)
